IS400TBCIH2C Certifications and Safety
This module is UL certified and can be used in both hazardous and non-hazardous locations. The UL certification covers various classes and divisions, and relevant UL mark documents are available for reference.
The measurement is divided into the following three steps:
(1) Initially, when the touch screen is not pressed, the X-axis and Y-axis of the touch screen will not be in contact with each other. At this time, the circuit is in the “Pen Down Detect” state. S1, S2, and S4 are disconnected, and S3 and S5 are closed. The voltage on the entire axis of X+ ~ After “Pen Down”, the X-axis and Y-axis are squeezed and connected, and the voltage on the Y-axis becomes low level because it is connected to the X-axis ground. This low level can be used as an interrupt trigger signal. Notify the CPU that a “Pen Down” event occurs.
(2) When the “PenDown” event is detected, the CPU immediately enters the X-axis coordinate measurement state: S1 and S3 are closed, S2, S4, and S5 are open (Y+ and Y- are suspended). Since the X-axis and Y-axis are connected when the contact point is pressed, the X_ADC at the Y+ end can be considered as the partial voltage sampling point of the X-axis (by measuring the voltage of the X_ADC, the ratio of X+ to the contact point and X- to the contact point can be obtained) , thereby calculating the coordinates of the X-axis
(3) After sampling the coordinates of the

S3C2410 has a built-in 8-channel 10-bit analog -to-digital converter (ADC). The ADC can convert external analog signals into 10-bit resolution digital signals with 500 KSPS sampling data. quantity. At the same time, the ADC part can work together with the touch screen controller of the CPU to complete the measurement of the absolute address of the touch screen.

– Analog input range: 0~3.3V
– Step-by-step X/Y coordinate measurement mode
– Automatic X/Y coordinate measurement mode

The following figure is the logic diagram of the ADC and touch screen controller part (Figure 6-8)
Figure 6-8
The following figure is a schematic diagram of an external touch screen based on the S3C2410 ADC and touch screen controller, as well as the actual schematic diagram of the external circuit . It should be added that Q1 and Q2 in the figure are P-channel MOS transistors, and the door-opening voltage is 1.8V; Q3 and Q4 are N-channel MOS transistors, and the door-opening voltage is 2.7V. Using the knowledge we have learned about electronic circuits, we know that when the MOS tube is turned on (after the gate voltage reaches the gate voltage), the source-drain of the MOS tube can be considered to be straight-through (the on-resistance is milliohm level) , that is, the MOS tube can be considered as the real “switch” in Figure 4-7. AVDD is an external analog reference source, usually connected to a 3.3V power supply. XP, XM, YP, and YM are the four leads of the touch screen, respectively, corresponding to the X-axis and Y-axis resistances.

Working modes of ADC and touch screen controller:
1. ADC Normal Conversion Mode (
AUTO_PST=0, XY_PST=0) is used for general ADC conversion, such as measuring battery voltage through ADC etc.
2. Separate X/Y Position Conversion Mode (Separate X/Y Position Conversion Mode) The
independent X/Y position conversion mode actually includes two modes: X-axis mode and Y-axis mode.
First, perform coordinate conversion of the X-axis (AUTO_PST=0, XY_PST=1). The conversion data of the X-axis will be written to the XPDAT of the ADCDAT0 register. After the conversion is completed, the touch screen controller will generate a corresponding interrupt.
Then perform Y-axis coordinate conversion (AUTO_PST=0, XY_PST=2). The Y-axis conversion data will be written to YPDAT in the ADCDAT1 register. After the conversion is completed, the touch screen controller will generate a corresponding interrupt.
3. Auto X/Y Position Conversion Mode (
AUTO_PST=1, XY_PST=0) will automatically convert the X-axis and Y-axis. A corresponding interrupt is then generated.
4. Wait for InterruptMode:
When the system waits for “Pen Down”, that is, when the touch screen is pressed, it is actually in interrupt waiting mode. Once pressed, the “INT_TC” interrupt signal is generated in real time. Each time this interrupt occurs, the X-axis and Y-axis coordinate conversion data can be read from the corresponding data register.
5. Standby Mode:
In this mode, the values in the conversion data register are retained as the data from the last conversion.
