Functional Overview
The IS200ESYSH2A is a 24-channel discrete (digital) input module in the GE Mark VIe control system. Its primary function is to collect discrete signals (contact open/close signals) generated by field devices such as sensors,
 switches, and relays, convert them into digital signals that can be recognized and processed by the PLC or control system CPU,
and transmit the processed data to the GE Speedtronic turbine control system or other control equipment, enabling automated control and monitoring.

Cooper Lighting achieved sales of US$1.7 billion in 2018, of which LED products contributed 84%; it achieved earnings before depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of US$187 million and free cash flow of US$143 million.

Signify said that this move confirms the strategic importance of the North American market to Signify. The acquisition of Cooper Lighting will significantly strengthen Signify’s position in the attractive North American market and improve the company’s business portfolio. In the future, the company will work with Cooper Lighting to further develop connected lighting, optimize operational efficiency, and provide customers with the highest level of service.

As traditional lighting continues to transition to LED lighting and the market demand for connected lighting systems and control components increases, the two companies will better benefit from the growing professional lighting market in North America (currently a market size of $12 billion) .

In addition, substantial cost synergies from the transaction are expected to exceed $60 million per year, with the majority expected to be realized within the first three years. These tangible cost synergies will come from bill of material savings as well as industry chain and procurement optimization.

After the acquisition is completed, Signify’s professional lighting division will generate more than 50% of sales. The revenue base of its growing profit engine will increase from 4.9 billion euros to 6.4 billion euros. Sales generated in the American market will increase from 4.9 billion euros to 6.4 billion euros. 28% increased to 40%.

According to the news, the sales teams, agent networks, product and brand portfolios, marketing and product development teams of Signify and Cooper Lighting will remain independent.
