2. Capacitive touch screen

The capacitive touch screen is plated with long and narrow electrodes on all four sides of the touch screen, forming a low-voltage AC electric field in the conductive body. When the user touches the screen, due to the electric field of the human body, a coupling capacitance will be formed between the finger and the conductor layer. The current emitted by the four side electrodes will flow to the contact, and the intensity of the current is proportional to the distance from the finger to the electrode. The controller located behind the touch screen will It will calculate the proportion and strength of the current and accurately calculate the location of the touch point. The double glass of the capacitive touch screen not only protects the conductors and sensors, but also effectively prevents external environmental factors from affecting the touch screen. Even if the screen is stained with dirt, dust or oil, the capacitive touch screen can still accurately calculate the touch position.

The capacitive touch screen is a transparent special metal conductive substance affixed to the glass surface. When a finger touches the metal layer, the capacitance of the contact will change, causing the frequency of the oscillator connected to it to change. By measuring the frequency change, the touch position can be determined to obtain information. Because the capacitance changes with temperature, humidity or grounding conditions, its stability is poor and drift often occurs. This kind of touch screen is suitable for the debugging stage of system development.

3. Infrared touch screen

The touch screen is composed of infrared transmitting and receiving sensing elements installed on the outer frame of the touch screen. An infrared detection network is formed on the screen surface. Any touching object can change the infrared rays on the contact points to achieve touch screen operation. Infrared touch screens are not interfered by current, voltage and static electricity, and are suitable for certain harsh environmental conditions. Its main advantages are low price, easy installation, no need for cards or any other controllers, and can be used on computers of all levels. In addition, since there is no capacitor charging and discharging process, the response speed is faster than the capacitive type, but the resolution is lower.
