Functional Overview
The IS220PAICH1A is a 24-channel discrete (digital) input module in the GE Mark VIe control system. Its primary function is to collect discrete signals (contact open/close signals) generated by field devices such as sensors,
 switches, and relays, convert them into digital signals that can be recognized and processed by the PLC or control system CPU,
and transmit the processed data to the GE Speedtronic turbine control system or other control equipment, enabling automated control and monitoring.

In North Salt Lake City, Utah, a small company called Go Natural CNG is launching a new home inflatable system.

Lucas, CEO of Go Natural CNG. Lucas Kjar, chief executive of the system, said the system can inflate faster than some other models on the market, at about one gallon per hour, and has a lifespan of up to 20 years. The device, expected to be released before the end of the year, will use hydraulic technology to compress natural gas, he said. Lucas did not disclose the price of the device.

Go Natural will likely face a lot of competition, though. General Electric, Whirlpool and Eaton are all working on research and development of home inflatable technology and expect to have products on the market in the next few years.

General Electric is preparing to release a device that can reduce the temperature of natural gas to minus 50 degrees to separate moisture and other contaminants. With this technology, there will be no need to compress natural gas or perform equipment maintenance, the company said. GE plans to set the retail price at $500, about one-tenth the price of existing products on the market.

Eaton’s lab in Michigan is developing a product that will use liquid to compress natural gas instead of traditional metal pistons. Eaton plans to have the $500 product on sale by 2015.
