21ic News Power management company Eaton has launched a new “next generation” MT L GIR6000 biogas analyzer to help ensure reliable and accurate gas measurement in biogas production. The MTL GIR6000 gas analyzer is the first truly modular biogas analyzer that requires minimal maintenance, allowing process engineers and biogas plant managers to reduce downtime and simultaneously improve their processes.

The MTL GIR6000 analyzer features an innovative modular concept that is user-serviceable and reduces lifetime service costs with quick and easy maintenance procedures without the need for special tools or training. Therefore, maintenance engineers can essentially avoid on-site inspections by utilizing built-in self-diagnostics and guidance from pre-configured smart sensor modules.

Gas sensor modules in the analyzer are individually replaceable – simply slide in and lock and undergo automatic seal integrity checks – helping to ensure minimal downtime, increased process efficiency and reduced operational maintenance costs.

The analyzer can measure up to six gases, including methane, oxygen and hydrogen sulfide, using specialized sensor modules and proven long-life sensor technology to provide consistent, accurate and reliable readings. As plant measurement needs evolve, the MTL GIR6000 analyzer with its integrated platform concept can be easily upgraded to meet future needs.

The MTL GIR6000 analyzer is designed to be safe and reliable, requiring key-lock access and PIN-code to change key parameters, making data more secure. The use of a large, bright 7-inch LCD display, a sturdy keyboard, and an intuitive menu-driven architecture make it easy to set up equipment on site. The display provides clear visual warnings when a system fails or a sensor reaches the end of its life cycle, allowing users to predict or plan maintenance work. Data is transmitted to the factory host system through multiple communication methods, allowing remote monitoring of real-time data on site.

The MTL GIR6000 analyzer is an integrated IP65 weather-resistant solution that is ATEX approved for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas and can be flexibly installed around biogas plants.
